The lawsuit, filed in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, is a mass tort and includes 25 former players and their wives:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/nflconcussionlitigation.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/Hopkins-v.-NFL.pdf\"><em>Wes Hopkins, et al v. NFL<\/em><\/a><em>.<\/em> The Firm now represents 325 former players. The <em>Hopkins<\/em> suit is no different than the others, asserting counts of negligence, negligent misrepresentation, fraud, fraudulent concealment, conspiracy to defraud, medical monitoring, loss of consortium and declaratory relief.<\/p>\n<p>The lawsuit includes several young former players: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/P\/ParsRi20.htm\">Richard Parson, Jr<\/a>. (31); <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/E\/EdwaEr00.htm\">Timothy Edwards<\/a> (31); <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/F\/FreiMa20.htm\">Rockne Freitas<\/a> (32); <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/H\/HarrKe99.htm\">Kevin Harris<\/a> (33); <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/H\/HerrNo00.htm\">Noah Herron<\/a> (29); <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/R\/ReubAl20.htm\">Alan Reuber, Jr.<\/a> (31) and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/S\/StitSh00.htm\">Shyrone Stith<\/a> (33). According to my count, Herron is the youngest former player to be named in the 37 concussion-related lawsuits.<\/p>\n<p>As I repeatedly say, I don\u2019t think we are anywhere close to seeing the end.\u00a0There are now over 800 former players\u00ad\u00ad&#8211;roughly 806&#8211;involved, a small fraction of the thousands of former and retired players that could potentially join the lawsuits.<\/p>\n<p>The lawsuits will continue to pile on, and they will slowly become \u201ctag-along actions\u201d or &#8220;related actions&#8221; joining the multidistrict litigation (MDL) in Philadelphia.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On Friday, The Locks Law Firm filed its ninth concussion-related lawsuit.
