The mass tort was filed in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and it includes 45 former players and their wives: <em><a href=\"http:\/\/nflconcussionlitigation.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/Eric-Allen-et-al-v.-NFL.pdf\">Eric Allen, et al v. NFL<\/a>.<\/em> The Firm now represents 370 former players, almost half of the entire field of plaintiffs.<\/p>\n<p>The <em>Allen<\/em> suit is no different than the others, asserting counts of negligence, negligent misrepresentation, fraud, fraudulent concealment, conspiracy to defraud, medical monitoring, loss of consortium and declaratory relief.<\/p>\n<p>Some notable players include six-time Pro Bowler and Philadelphia Eagle, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/A\/AlleEr00.htm\">Eric Allen<\/a>; six-time Pro Bowler and Minnesota Viking, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/T\/TingMi00.htm\">Mick Tingelhoff<\/a>; and four-time Pro Bowler and \u201creformed\u201d troublemaker, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/C\/CartDa00.htm\">Dale Carter<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>As I continue to say, I don\u2019t think we are anywhere close to seeing the end. There are now over 850 former players\u00ad\u00ad&#8211;roughly 851&#8211;involved, a small fraction of the thousands of former and retired players that could potentially join the lawsuits.<\/p>\n<p>The lawsuits will continue to pile on, and they will slowly become \u201ctag-along actions\u201d or \u201crelated actions,\u201d joining the multidistrict litigation (MDL) in Philadelphia.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On Monday, the Locks Law Firm filed another concussion-related lawsuit&#8211;its third within seven days and tenth overall.
